Tokyo Rose Arrest

Iva Toguri D’Aquino, a Japanese-American suspected of being wartime radio propagandist Tokyo Rose, is arrested in Yokohama. She would later be pardoned by President Ford.

Fromme Attempts to Kill President Ford

Lynette (“Squeaky”) Fromme attempts to assassinate U.S. President Gerald Ford.  She was released from prison in 2009 after serving 34 years and now lives in Marcy, New York.

Actress and international sex symbol Raquel Welch turns 75.  The Bolivian-American star was born on this day in Chicago.
